AD-A-MANT - Series 1 Exhibition
Event Information:
International Buy NOTHING Day!
29th November is International Buy Nothing Day. A 24-Hour moratorium on shopping. A day to contemplate our consumer cultured landscape, tied up so intimately with our outlook, lifestyle and eventual sustainability of our roots on the only planet we call home. A time to seek activities beyond malls and purchases.
Come Join us in a FREE event at The Other Side Gallery!
AD-A-MANT - Series 1
(exhibition)
AD-A-MANT examines the relation of advertisements in public areas and that of our mental environment.
Are there innocuous or sublime elements we have taken for granted? And if you had a chance to change it, what would you do?
Inspired by self-encouragement scrawled on study tables and discoloured walls...this INTERACTIONAL exhibition invites you to come and alter the space as you would LIKE it. Be a part of the art.
Watch artists reclaim public spaces in front of you, in LIVE ART ! (only on Friday)
WHAT WOULD JESUS BUY?
(documentary screening)
A refreshing take on consumerism, performance artist 'Reverend Billy' and the Church of Stop Shopping Gospel Choir goes on a cross-country mission to save Christmas from the Shopocalypse (the end of humankind from consumerism, over-consumption and the fires of eternal debt.) The film also delves into issues such as the role sweatshops play in America's mass consumerism and Big-Box Culture.

Bryan's back
Missexpectation @ Esplanade Tunnel from 5 July to 3 Aug 2008
“Expectations are necessary in enabling us to make sense of the world. But while assumptions and memories of past experiences help us to process information on a daily basis, they also encompass the danger of losing our sense of wonderment and novelty.
Here, the artist tries to examine old ways of seeing things, of comprehension and expectation. In particular, expectations of materials and concepts are examined through diverse methodologies, exploring how we “read”, “feel” and “understand”.

View my work at....
298 Simpang Bedok... 'Badoque'
A nice and cosy place to dine, chill out with friends... and also you can view my artworks that are displayed at the restaurant. 'Badoque' is a javanese word meaning eat. A Halal Italian restaurant that serve pasta, pizza, dessert, ice-cream and other savory dishes. I brought Guna to Badoque on the last monday and he bumped into Salim who he knew long time back... what a small world... We sat and have ice mocha... and ate moroccan chicken, cheese pizza.... then finally Weiqi cycled over to join us. It was a slow, lazy afternoon...we had great food and good laugh and great company... then lastly it was the dessert that filled us with so much contentment and so satisfying... Hey guys you have to go try it out... you will defintely like the food and the place.
First Post for 2008
Its the first post for 2008... Its been a while since I last update on my blog. I have been slacking for a while... tryin' to gather my energy to carry on my drawings and lots of other small little things that i plan to experiment with... but still hangin' on the air. Came across a few residency but didnt apply. And also planned to apply online for call for artists competition and yet again... i didn't. Will start to draw again and make more art... ... mh
